Ornamental Red Tulip Inspired by Batik Patterns Tattoo. You Don’t Have to Be a Florist to Have This Tattoo.

Flower is everywhere if we talk ornamental tattoo.

I think it is because flower is easy to interpreted into ornament or it is just the source inspiration of ornament in the first place LOL.

This tattoo design is a bit different than my usual design. most of my design is inspired by Tenun Ikat cloth or Songket, which mostly consists of rigid patterns, the unique processing method behind the creation of this traditional cloth creates this character naturally. This tulip flower tattoo inspired by batik motif that more curly and flowy character, you can tell it from the leaf character.

It is actually a Flash design, originally I want to place it over the shoulder, so the diamond pattern start from the triceps over the shoulder and the flower appear up side down on front hand / biceps which actually hold a bit of story that might mirroring my character as a person HeHeHe and the leaf part spread on the collar bone, it feels elegant and feminine for a tattoo in my opinion. It is a kind of human/me behavior or persona that can be interpreted from the way this design react if put in this certain way and position.

But I still appreciate her choice to adopt my Tulip Flash Design and the placement she prefers and I think it is a great placement for this Tulip to grow and thrive.

Another thing that I don't normally do is pairing the red accent with light grey, what I usually do is do it as a dark red and bright red. I think this is create a different mood of tattoo design, something more calm, chill and relax. I'm not sure if that's the right expression to use LOL.

The way I pose her is a bit interesting, like I wanna do a kind of a photo model shoot if it is make sense, I just wanna start to combine my passion in tattooing and my photography hobbies. It was a really harmonious flow since it is my first time to direct this kind of tattoo shoot :) and thanks to her that she really confidence to do the pose. It was a fun and game session and I would very much would like to do something like this anytime.
