As I mention the interest of tattooing come from a novel that I read, and become a tattoo artist and have a style that I can call “my style” is a mindset that I have since the first time touching a tattoo machine.
Its begin on symbol and tribal style, something that the protagonist do, by time it start to transform into more ornament style and gain the influence of traditional woven fabric motif such as Songket Sumatra, Tenun Sumba and Bali Gringsing cloth.
I think, I unconsciously do translating what I feel deep in my heart, the dilemma I ever through into a visual identity in my tattoo style.
I always see blend between rigid pattern and flowy curly pattern, and I recognize it as something that need to speak as a visual identity. It is a visual translation of my decision in the past 6 years, sometimes I can be stubborn form into rigid pattern and and just chill with the flow like water represented into the curl and wavy pattern in my tattoo.
It is not something often I see in ornamental tattoo and that what my tattoo style feels unique IMHO.
