Sun Flower Tattoo in Ornament Style.
Floral Inspired Tattoo, With Tenun Gringsing Bali Motif. Another Flower Tattoo.
This is my reinterpretation of sunflower using my tattoo style. The whole vibes of this design is inspired by Tenun Ikat from Tenganan, Bali called Gringsing although still some Songket from West Sumatra pattern always has its place in my every design, can you guest which part?
Ornamental sunflower tattoo in progress on the left and middle images and complete progress on the right picture.
Taken from my flash design collection, I originally project it to be placed on shin both left and right leg, yet it sit beautifully on back with near the nape, the size not so big and I think it also good with this size and placement.
This is a sunflower in a pot basically, the bowl like shape on the bottom part is the pot, I combine the vibes of Gringsing cloth from Bali with rigid motif from Songket Sumatra pattern on the diamond like shape in the middle and the repeating pattern on its left and right, the flowy curl pattern is patra Bali motif that i make more simple.
The leaf part is the repeting pattern in the middle is another Songket influenced pattern, something simple in black and a little bold.
The flower part on top is actually another patra Bali motif in negative space if you can see it. This is my second time I use this much red in my tattoo design and it is help create the whole mood and vibes that I want to deliver.
